Jack N. Boyd,
Jr.
Jack is a native Texarkanian. He has lived in Texarkana, Texas all
of his life, with the exception of a 10 year absence while attending
college, law school, and beginning his legal career by practicing
law for 4 years in Houston. Jack married his wife, Tena, also from
Texarkana, in 1979, and they have 2 sons, Jake, 21, and Josh, 18.
Jack
graduated summa cum laude (4.0 GPA) from the University of Houston
in 1981, and cum laude (top 10 %) from the University of Houston
College of Law in 1985. Jack and his family returned to Texarkana in
1989, where they are active in Church and youth activities. The Boyd
family is very active in scouting, with Jack serving as assistant
Scoutmaster, Tena serving as den mother, Jake as an Eagle scout, and
Josh as a First Class scout. Jack has coached his sons' baseball and
football teams, has served as Cubmaster of Cub Pack 100 for 10
years, and Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 16 for the past 11 years.
He has also been active in various community matters.
Jack
focuses his legal practice on personal injury work, with his primary
emphasis on nursing home negligence, medical malpractice, and large
toxic tort work. He was admitted to the Texas bar in 1985 and the
Arkansas bar in 1990. Arkansas bar in 1990. He is also admitted to
practice in the U.S. Claims Court, the US Tax Court, the US District
Courts, Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas and Western District
of Arkansas, and the Court of Appeals, 8th Circuit. He is a member
of Northeast Texas, American, Arkansas, and Texarkana Bar
Associations, State Bar of Texas, and Texas Association of Defense
Counsel. Jack has been Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial by
the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1994 and is rated AV
(best) by the Martindale-Hubbell attorney rating service.
